Meeting on the review and housing plan for Faculty of Applied Sciences
On Wednesday 30 June acting Dean, Professor Tim van der Hagen called a meeting of Applied Sciences personnel where he spoke to 125 listeners in an informal setting about recent developments in housing, the TU-wide review and the consequences for the faculty.

EUR 6.1 milion for new Nanoscoop
Only in Dutch - Het Netherlands Centre for Electron Nanoscopy (NeCEN) heeft EUR 6,1 miljoen van NWO ontvangen voor de aanschaf van de nieuwste en sterkste electonenmicroscoop die er is. Met deze microscoop kunnen de moleculaire bouwstenen van het leven bestudeerd worden. Dit is belangrijk voor onderzoek naar bijvoorbeeld afwijkingen aan cellen van bloedvaten bij hart- en vaatziekten, de wisselwerking tussen ziekteverwekkers en gastheren bij infectieziekten en moleculaire processen die kanker veroorzaken.

iGEM Team 2010 takes the Challenge
Once again, the iGEM Team from TU Delft is entering the iGEM competition held at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in Boston. Last year, 112 teams took part and the TU Delft team took home gold. This year’s team hopes to follow in their footsteps. They were recently featured in a national news broadcast on the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. A promising start, I think you’ll agree.
