TU Delft - Mozambique project
Introduction of Water & Sanitation Curricula at the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, Mozambique

TU Delft leading a consortium with  UNESCO-IHE, IRC, Vitens-Evides International and NHL, will implement a 4 year project to support the establishment of the Water and Sanitation programme at ESUDER in Vilanculos.

The use of infrastructures for clean water and sanitation in rural areas of Mozambique is at a worrisome low level. At the same time it is clear that the availability of clean water and adequate sanitation services contributes to the general quality of life, local productivity, prevention of disease and to the education of girls. This is why the communal school for rural development (ESUDER) in Vilanculos, Mozambique wishes to establish a programme on Water and Sanitation (WATSAN) in cooperation with UEM.

The project will receive a funding of 1 Million EURO from Nuffic, the Netherlands Organization for international cooperation in higher education.

National Information Policy and ICT master plan, July 2010
Taiz Taiz

In Yemen a two-day conference was held to review and update the national Information Policy and ICT master plan for Higher Education in Yemen. The aim of the conference was:

  • to make all the stakeholders in Yemeni Higher Education once more aware of the importance of ICT for education and of their own particular role in its development,
  • out of the deliberations and discussions will emerge a clear view of the future role of ICT in Yemeni HE, this may give rise to certain adjustments in the Policy and the master plan, or even to major changes in them.
