Document Management and Archive
Documentmanagement at the TU Delft
Document management is a programme for the entire TU Delft community. Sooner or later all members of TU Delft staff will come across it. The goal of the programme is to professionalize and digitalize document processing and archive management at TU Delft.
The programme document management has been headed since 1 January 2008 by the department Document Management and Archive of the library.
The activities of the programme document management are:
- Servicing software to support digital document management: Electronic Document, called ED.
- Accompany TU departments at using and introducing ED.
- Improving the organization of DMA (Document Management and Archive) and centralizing the support of document management
- Planning the implementation of ED
- JiM digital personnel files
What is document management?
Document management is managing information which has been laid down in documents.
The advantages of document management with ED are:
- Complete information is available by offering a central entrance on all important documents of the organization.
- Digital settlement of document processes (including version management and keeping up the status of the settlement) becomes possible.
- Digital working is supported by software (Decos).
- Digital working becomes easier by linking document layout (MS Word etc.) to Decos.
- Digital archiving becomes easier by organizing the information (digital files).
