Joint empirical research in state-of-the-art testbeds for innovative Cyber Security solutions.
This collaboration combines the highly recognized testbed facilities at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), with the unique social technical approach of TU Delft. Bringing together international top talent in the broader field of Cyber Security, TU Delft and SUTD aim to build up new crucial knowledge on security vulnerabilities. This knowledge can lead to innovations and solutions for a more cyber secure world. Starting this September 2017, the collaboration kicks-off with two projects, jointly led by researchers from both institutes. These joint research projects bring together international experts with a strong focus on developing research excellence in the multidisciplinary area of Cyber Security. In the long term, the joint projects will enable both SUTD and TU Delft to continue attracting top research talent. The collaboration also enables students from SUTD and TU Delft to participate in an exchange programme to gain valuable international experience.
This collaboration has been facilitated by the Holland Innovation Network of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Singapore and Brunei.
Project I: Contracting Data Flow for System Security
Associate Prof. Sun Jun (SUTD) and Prof. Dr. Arie van Deursen (TU Delft) join forces on tracking the information flow in complex software systems using state of the art verification techniques. This makes sure that malicious inputs can no longer harm a system.
Project II: Anomaly Detection in Cyber Physical System Using a Data Fusion Approach
The project of professor dr. Aditya Mathur (SUTD) and dr. Sicco Verwer (TU Delft) aims to develop and apply novel machine learning methods that fuse sensor data from the physical world with network data from the IT world. This provides new insights into the vulnerabilities of cyber physical system.
