DIMI on Tour, Integrated design in… Deltas – Houston after Hurricane Harvey

On 19 October last about 75 people visited the DIMI on Tour event in the Berlage rooms of the Faculty Architecture. On the program were members of the Delft Harvey Texas Research Team, who gave presentations about the finding of their research after Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston Area.
Dale Morris (Sr. Economist at Royal Netherlands Embassy USA) and Prof. Sam Brody (Professor & Director of the Center for Texas Beaches and Shores (CTBS) at Texas A&M University) gave their view via video messages. Later on a panel discussion took place.

The panel, representing the Ministry IenM, consultancies and the TU Delft, answered question from both the audience as well as the chairman of the afternoon Prof. Bas Jonkman. Sofie van Stolwijk, Program manager Delta program Spatial Adaptation received the first copy of the Harvey Hurricane Report - A fact-finding effort in the direct aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in the Greater Houston Region. It was an interesting and successful meeting.
