First TU Delft Campus community drinks at Applikon

Nieuws - 14 februari 2019

On Tuesday 29 January, many campus residents gathered at Applikon BV for the first TU Delft Campus Community Drinks. They were warmly welcomed by managing director Arthur Oudshoorn and vice president operations from Delft University of Technology Nicoly Vermeulen.

Oudshoorn gave a short introduction about his company and the amazing technology Applikon develops. He explained why Applikon moved to the campus, as one of the first companies. Of course, there is connection with Delft University of Technology, but to be around other high-tech companies and to get good support from the municipality of Delft is just as important, he said. Vermeulen praised Oudshoorn and Applikon. “You run a fantastic company and are a great ambassador for us!”

The vice president summarised all developments that have recently taken place on TU Delft Campus: the new building for ABB, the opening of RoboHouse, SAM|XL and de launch of X!Delft. “We’re working hard on building this great innovation ecosystem and it is important to build a community for all residents as well, so that they get to know each other”, Vermeulen said. “We’re not just neighbours working alongside, but we can collaborate and learn from each other as well.”

To illustrate this, Oudshoorn got the first new TU Delft Campus street sign for Applikon. Those signs will be given to all residents to mark that they are part of our community.

The next Community Drinks will take place on March 19 at Physee. The theme will be ‘co-creation’.
