Nieuws - 28 augustus 2019

Tuesday the 27th of August, the ProRail Summerschool started. The Summer School is an initiative of TU Delft, BJTU and Young ProRail Association (employees under age of 35). In 2015 the first Summer School on High Speed Transportation was organized in Bijing (China) Bin Jing Guoqing (BJTU) and Valeri Markine (TUD, Railway Engineering). Now, 4 years later it takes place in the Netherlands.

Participants are BSc,MSc and PhD students from both universities, and young employees of ProRail. The Summer School on Railway Innovations is an international event held with focus on railway engineering and operation. It gives a unique opportunity for participants to network, exchange, experience and learn more about railways, rolling stock and its industry in an international setting.

The activities of the Summer school are divers. Next to the lectures at TUD, the students will visit Prorail, Railcenter in Amersfoort and maintenance workshop of NS in Leidschendam. The students also have a chance to see the hard part of railway business, such as welding of rails performed by RailOK. The activities are not limited to railways, other transportation modes are of interest as well. This year a visit to the Port of Rotterdam is in the program.

The Summer school is sponsored by Prorail and TU Delft (Transport Institute).
