In addition online webinars are held every Wednesday on relevant topics relating to online education. These webinars are recorded and can be viewed when needed (on-demand). The following webinars are suitable for the subject of Fraud Prevention:

An overview of all webinars can be found here.

Finally a short summary of Tips & Tricks on Fraud Prevention (these are all from the above materials):

  • Take a good look at your learning objectives and then consider what is the right type of test that matches these learning objectives.
  • Do not try to use multiple choice questions unless you have a large (!) database of questions to choose from.
  • Use a plagiarism scanner for work submitted online. It is advisable to inform the students in advance about what constitutes plagiarism.
  • Once you have done all the above focus on good communication prior to the test about expectations towards students. Indicate what you do and do not want to see. Think about explaining the Code of Conduct and also spend time clearly indicating what the consequences of fraud can be (this is discussed extensively in Webinar 26, for example). Furthermore take a look here for an example of a leaflet from CiTG about the expectations of students and make sure to familiarise yourself with the information provided to students on fraud and plagiarism on the TU Delft website.
