Revised TU Delft template for Data Management Plan

Having a good plan for research data management is not just increasingly required by many research funders like European Commission, NWO, ZonMw and more, but is also crucial to organising research activities and handling various issues in research like privacy, ethics, legal and so on.

Thanks to feedback from hundreds of researchers who have completed Data Management Plans (DMPs) in the past, we are pleased to introduce a revised TU Delft DMP template. Key changes:

  • We have introduced multiple-choice questions in place of open-ended questions wherever possible
  • We have introduced conditional questions which allows you to skip certain questions on the basis of your previous answers. · We have ensured the alignment between the questions and the core requirements for DMP suggested by the Science Europe and is used by NWO, ZonMw and European Commission.
  • The revised TU Delft DMP template has been accepted by two funding bodies: NWO and ZonMw. This means that researchers can now make DMPs using the TU Delft template to comply with the funders’, as well as with TU Delft internal requirements for working with personal research data. The new TUD DMP template will be officially launched in TU Delft’s tool for creating DMPs (DMPonline) on 1 March 2021 with a transition period of one month. The old template is still available during the transition period and will be discontinued after 1 April 2021. No impact is expected on all the plans (either complete or in progress) that are made with the old template. They will be continuously accessible and editable in the DMPonline tool.

For any questions regarding the new template and DMPs, especially on how you can use it for NWO and ZonMw projects, please contact your faculty data steward.
