Om meer duurzame energie op te wekken en minder afhankelijk te zijn van fossiele brandstoffen, verschijnen in ons land steeds meer windmolens aan de horizon. Vooral op zee, want daar staan ze niet alleen niemand in de weg, er is vooral veel meer ruimte dan op het land.

Prof. dr. ir. Jan-Willem van Wingerden is met ingang van 12 december benoemd tot hoogleraar Data Driven Control bij het Delft Centre for Systems and Control. Jan-Willem van Wingerden richt zich in zijn onderzoek op de meet– en regeltechniek van grootschalige mechatronische systemen die gedreven worden door een verstoring zoals bijvoorbeeld wind of golven. Uniek is dat zijn onderzoek zich bevindt op het raakvlak van meet –en regeltechniek en werktuigbouwkunde.

Sergio Grammatico, assistant professor bij de afdeling DCSC, heeft een toekenning ontvangen voor een TOP-Subsidie voor vrij onderzoek in wiskunde van NWO voor zijn onderzoek ‘Complex Network Games: The Scenario Approach’ .

Assistant Professor Manuel Mazo jr. is promoted to Associate Professor at DCSC.

Doctoral candidate Temitope Agbana, who works at the DCSC Department on a TU Delft Global fellowship, together with his colleague Hai Gong received the Silver Edmund Optics Educational award for his Optical Smart Malaria Diagnostic Project last month. They aim at realizing accurate diagnosis of malaria with a click of a button.

Members of the three student associations at 3mE chose the best lecturers again this academic year (2016-2017). This award enables students to express their appreciation for the lecturers and the creative way in which the lecturers in question teach their classes. The 3mE Faculty is proud of the winners.

Manuel Mazo Jr., onderzoeker en docent bij Delft Center for Systems and Control (DCSC) heeft een ERC Starting Grant toegewezen gekregen. Manuel doet onderzoek naar control systems.
