CDM Research
At the core of CDM we have the development of advanced (computational) design tools, and their application to the design of innovative (nano) mechanical devices. Design tools revolve mainly on topology optimization, and subtopics establish a link with advanced manufacturing (e.g., additive manufacturing). In addition, the design tools consider thermo-mechanical and other multiphysical problems (optical, chemical, transport phenomena), and integrate structural and controller design for actively-controlled systems. Finally, computational efficiency and robustness, high design resolution, and the ability to handle nonlinear problems are of prime interest.
