Understanding and accurate description of the interfacial failure mechanisms at the atomic scale helps explaining the delamination failure at the macro-scale.

My project is aimed at establishing a general framework to couple the atomic multi-physics phenomena and the macroscopic behavior of materials and interfaces which will lead to the development of a predictive simulation tool for designing interfaces and reliability and failure analyses of multi-material systems, especially in microelectronic applications.
