In this project, a flapping wing micro air vehicle was developed. It focused on the mechanism to drive the wings and the wing design itself.

 The inspiration was derived from resonant properties exhibited by the insect thorax-wing system. The base structure used for the resonant mechanism is a ring-type structure that drives the wing flapping and a flexible wing to passively achieve the required wing pitching. The fully compliant structure designs were modeled and optimized after which they were realized and tested.
