Tina Comes

Dr. Tina Comes is Associate Professor in Resilience Engineering; Full Professor in ICT at UiA (Norway); Visiting Professor at the Université Dauphine (France); and Senior Fellow of the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (US). Dr. Comes was awarded with the prestigious Delft Technology Fellowship on Resilience. She is member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Technology and scientific vice director and member of the steering board for the 4TU.center Resilience Engineering. She served several years as board member of ISCRAM, holds Board position for the EURO-HOpe association and is coordinator of the H2020 project iTRACK.  Dr. Comes’ work aims at designing resilient societies by focusing on the informational and collaborative aspects of resilience. Her focus is on understanding the pivotal role that information plays in sensemaking, coordination and decision-making. From this theoretical understanding, she develops models, tools and design principles for sensemaking and decision support that connect short-term response with planning and strategic decisions. These findings are evaluated with real-world decision-makers in a range of application areas, ranging from on critical infrastructures resilience, to supply chain risk management and humanitarian logistics. Dr. Comes’ research is published more than 90 articles in journals and peer-review conferences.
