Sustainable housing transformation

Supervisors: Vincent Gruis Anke van Hal

Research into sustainable housing transformation is about  how to change, and use change, to come to a sustainable housing stock. There is a large amount of houses which are poorly insulated and have inefficient installations. We look at solutions to retrofit the existing houses with high energy ambitions. The focus is on making big steps. How to come from ambitious pilot projects to large scale application. Therefore we welcome proposals which focus on the development of demand and supply.

We aim to take forward research that increases our understanding of the key factors influencing mass market adoption of ambitious energy renovations, focussing in particular on the way in which actors on the housing market (developers, investors, government bodies, housing organisations, NGO’s and of course households) can organise themselves to stimulate market uptake of energy efficient renovations.
