EPOS-NL
The European Plate Observing System – Netherlands (EPOS-NL) is a Dutch national research infrastructure for solid Earth sciences. EPOS-NL is a cluster of large-scale geophysical facilities for research on georesources. It develops innovative research facilities and integrates these with existing, world-class facilities into a coherent infrastructure.
This infrastructure makes these research facilities and data available to national and international researchers, with the goal of addressing key geo-societal challenges. These include:
- Exploration for (renewable) geo-energy resources
- Storage of fuels, CO2 and wastewater in the sub-surface, and
- Hazards such as induced or natural earthquakes
EPOS-NL funds the research infrastructure for the campus geothermal well (DAPwell) and laboratory infrastructure including micro-CT core scanner. These facilities are open for use, please contact Susanne Laumann for more information about this.
