Zhang, Y.

Profile

Yuen Zhang is a PhD candidate at Delft University of Technology. He obtained his bachelor and master degree in China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). His current research interests include offshore wind turbine monopile, physical modelling (centrifuge testing), soil structure interaction and image analysis. He is also interested in landslide quantitative risk assessment, geohazard 3D reality model and numerical modelling of debris flow due to his master research experience.

Research

Yuenโ€™s research is mostly concerned with offshore geotechnical engineering, focusing on centrifuge modelling into interaction of soil and offshore wind turbine monopiles, including:

  • Monotonic and cyclic behaviour of monopiles in clay;
  • Pile-soil interaction of long-term cyclic loaded pile in clay;
  • Advanced p-y methods for monopiles under long-term cyclic loading in clay.
