M. B. (Matt) Tyers

Profile

I am a PhD candidate at TU Delft as of November 2021.  I have a BSc in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado, and a MSc in Statistics from Montana State University, where my project focused on spatial prediction of blister rust infections in whitebark pine north of Yellowstone National Park.  After finishing my MSc, I worked for the Alaska Department of Fish & Game as a statistician, supporting management of sport fish species.

Research

My PhD project is under the supervision of Dr. Bert Wouters, and will focus on polar ice mass loss using remote sensing. This project will synthesize multiple data sources within a Bayesian statistical framework, including satellite gravimetry and altimetry, and informed by ground processes.
