Research
Since my emeritus status I contribute to several departmental research topics, that have my strong interest. Recent activities:
- Design and performance evaluation of Ka-band cubesat-based radar altimeters for oceanographic and inland water applications
- System studies on cubesat based SwarmSAR (a constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar satellites perform as 1 powerful system)
- Implementation of a Doppler (ocean current) mode on satellite-based windscatterometers, i.e. the ASCAT.
University lectures stopped after my retirement, the first two courses still ongoing:
• PATO course Radar
• Various short courses on Synthetic Aperture Radar and Applications
• ET4169 Microwaves, Radar and Remote Sensing
• ET4175 Radar Systems
• ET4176 Radar Remote Sensing of Earth and Atmosphere
• ET4240 Radar Earth Observation
- Boardmember of Diligentia society, a physics society that organizes every year a scientific lectureseries, see www.natuurwetenschappen-diligentia.nl
- Initiator of NL-RIA, a Dutch network on Radar Instruments and Applications, see www.nl-ria.nl
