Since 2012, I work at the TU-Delft as a PhD researcher on the 'Nearshore Monitoring and Modelling' project (abbreviated as NEMO). The project comprises research on the processes that determine coastal evolution of sandy beaches at decadal time scales. Special attention will be paid to the beach of Delfland with the Sand Engine. Prof. Dr. Ir. M.J.F. Stive is my promotor at TU-Delft.
Besides at TU-Delft I have been working as a coastal researcher at Deltares since the year 2006. My work there mainly focussed on hydrodynamics and morphology for coastal infrastructure (e.g. wave transformation, dune erosion, coastline models, scour). Before Deltares, I have performed studies at Rijkswaterstaat-RIZA directly after my graduation at TU-Delft in the year 2005.
