Gregory Smith holds a M.Sc. degree in civil engineering from Queen’s University at Kingston, Canada. He has worked for a number of consultants in Canada before immigrating to The Netherlands in 1992. Since then he worked for Delft Hydraulics, specializing in physical models of coastal and offshore structures and joined Van Oord in 2003, where he is the lead engineer of the coastal engineering group. He has also been involved in a number of committees involved in new developments in the design and construction field of coastal structures.
As a part-time staff member of the CiTG department Gregory supervises M.Sc. student’s research studies and gives guest lectures on construction methods for the courses Bed, bank and shore protection and Breakwaters and closure Dams.
