Willem Ottevanger

Willem Ottevanger received a M.Sc degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Twente in 2005 developing a 1D morphological model using the discontinuous Galerkin finite element method with an application to the Paraná River in Argentina. Between 2006 and 2008 he worked in the River engineering and morphology group at Deltares, working mainly on projects for the sustainable management of the Rhine fairway and the implementation of new functionality in the Delft3D hydro-morphodynamic model. In 2008 he started on his Ph.D. project on the development of a quasi-3D hydro-morphodynamic modeling system with application to strongly curved meandering channels.
