Qian got her financial support from China Scholarship Committee (CSC) for 48 months for her PhD research study since autumn of 2009 on the topic of “flood risk analysis in Shanghai” at TUD. She got her MSc degree on specification of Geo-information management based on a joint project of “CHILA” between Chang’an university, China and ITC, University of Twente, the Netherlands during 2007-2009. Her scientific interests include probabilistic design, vulnerability analysis, geo-information management, scenario analysis and flood risk assessment.
