Joost Pol
Profile
Joost Pol is a PhD researcher in the field of Flood Risk. He graduated in 2014 from Delft University of Technology, with the specializations water management and flood risk. After graduation he worked at HKV Consultants, where he was involved mainly in flood risk management strategies in fluvial systems.
Since September 2017, Joost is involved as a PhD researcher in the STW funded All-risk project. His research focuses on more efficient implementation of the flood risk safety standards by investigating:
- Time-dependence in failure mechanisms
- Interaction between failure mechanisms
- Incorporation of Serviceability Limit States
