Marine Renewable Energies Lab (MREL)

The Marine Renewable Energies Lab (MREL) is a forward thinking research team of Dr George Lavidas. It was initiated in January 2021 at TU Delft, under the umbrella of the Offshore Engineering Group, at the Department of Hydraulic Engineering.

MREL topics of research are focusing on resource assessments, Climate Change and how it alters renewable resources, array optimisation, hydrodynamics, nearshore impacts, shallow water dynamics, hybridisation with marine energies, Energy System Integration of marine renewables, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), techno-economics.
