M. Martinelli (Mario)
Mario Martinelli is a part-time consultant and researcher in the Infra- and Structures Department at Deltares since November 2015. He joined Deltares in January 2014 as Marie-Curie Research Fellow, after being 2 years employed as Researcher at Eucentre (Pavia, Italy) and as Lecturer and Teaching Assistant at University of Pavia, and 3 months as Post-Doc at UCDavis (California, USA). He holds a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza" (Italy). His consultant and research activity is in the field of constitutive modelling, large-strain consolidation and settlements after reclamation, earthquake engineering, soil-structure-interaction, modelling of landslides run-out and pile installation processes.
