My research focuses on sediment dynamics in fluvial, estuarine, and marine environments. I am involved in ongoing research projects in China, Singapore and the Netherlands:

• Effects of human activities on the eco-morphological evolution of rivers and estuaries
  KNAW-funded project relating the effect of human activities on the hydrology and ecomorphology of the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers

  Ministry of Public Works funded project to determine the reasons for increasing turbidity in the Ems-Dollard and impact on primary production

  Determining the reasons for increasing turbidity in Singapore’s coastal waters, and the impact of coral reefs
