R. (Richard) Dekker, MSc

Profile

I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degree at the faculty of aerospace engineering in Delft. During my studies I participated in developing the fastest recumbent bike in the world. Furthermore, I did my internship at Volvo Cars in Sweden at the CAE vehicle dynamics department. My master thesis was done at TNO at the structural dynamics department in Delft.

Research

The goal of my research is to develop a fatigue crack growth model for offshore wind turbines. In the first part of the project the effect of different loading scenarios on the crack growth rate and direction is researched. The second part of is focused on the influence of a corrosive environment.
