Y. (Yu) Zhang
Yu Zhang is a visiting PhD student in the Department of Transport & Planning, working in the field of intelligent transportation systems, connected and automated vehicles (CAVs), optimal control theory, and eco-driving. His focus is on the cooperative control method of CAVs towards better, safer, and greener transport system. The main methodology he adopts currently is Model Predictive Control (MPC) and reinforcement learning.
He received his BS degree in Traffic Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, in 2016 and is currently working toward the PhD degree at Tongji University (five-years program, directly from bachelor degree).
