Ir. B.J. (Bas) Walraven
Profile
I obtained both my bachelor and master degree in Civil Engineering at TU Delft. I completed my master in watermanagement in 2021 with a thesis on analysing the effects of droughts on vegetation using satellite (ASCAT) data. As of September 2021 I joined the department of Water Resources Management as a PhD candidate in hydrometeorology.
Research
My research focusses on high resolution space-time monitoring, and short term forecasting (nowcasting), of rainfall using opportunistic sensors, primarily commercial microwave links (CML).
