Laurene Bouaziz

Laurène obtained her MSc degree in 2012 working on landscape-based hydrological model structures in New-Zealand. She gained practical experience working at Deltares since 2013. At Deltares, Laurène is involved in projects related to flood risk and the impact of climate change on water resources. She joined the TU in 2017 as a PhD-researcher. Her research focuses on the improvement of the hydrological model of the operational forecasting system of the Meuse River. She will make use of remote sensing products in combination with local observations to derive spatial and temporal patterns in the Meuse basin and implement these findings in more realistic hydrological model structures. She will also assess groundwater transfers to improve the low flow model performance. The skill of the newly derived model will be assessed and compared to the current model used in operational context.
