Dr. Ir. Jeroen Langeveld
Jeroen Langeveld is part time (0,4 fte) associate professor Urban Drainage and director of the Urban Drainage Knowledge Program at TU Delft since 2010. In addition he is senior consultant and co-founder of Partners4urbanwater, an SME with a focus on urban water, combining (applied) research with top end consultancy. He obtained his PhD in 2004 on the PhD thesis ‘Interactions within wastewater systems’ at Delft University of technology, faculty of Civil Engineering, section of Sanitary engineering, where he also obtained his MSc thesis ‘Reuse of grey water and use of storm runoff in households’ in 1997.
Jeroen is very active in the international scientific community, which is reflected by his positions as chair of the Joint management Committee Urban Drainage (JCUD) of the International Water Association (IWA) and International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), chair of the International Water Association (IWA) – Sewer Processes and Networks Working Group and member of IWA Working Group on Modelling of Integrated Urban Water Systems (MIUWS) under the umbrella of the IWA Specialist Group on Modelling and Integrated Assessment (MIA).
Jeroen is leading the Urban Drainage Knowledge Program, with a focus on four overarching research themes: asset management, operational management, system dynamics and new sanitation concepts. More details on the research being part of the Urban Drainage program can be found here.
Next to this, he is involved in research projects on illicit connections, DTS, stormwater quality, antibiotic resistance, micropollutants, asset management of pressure mains and gully pots and call data analysis.
