Ir. Job van der Werf
Job van der Werf started his PhD in July 2018. He works in the field of Real Time Control to reduce the pollution deriving from urban drainage systems.
Job did his Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees of Civil and Environmental Engineering in Scotland, at the University of Strathclyde. During his studies he received ‘Colours’ on two separate occasions for exemplary work for the development of sports at the University of Strathclyde. He was also awarded the “Centenary Prize for Exceptional Performance” for his course. During his Masters’ degree he spent half a year at the Universidad Polytechnica de Valencia.
“Towards Enhanced Sustainable Drainage Systems” was the title of his thesis at Strathclyde, looking at the use of cyanobacterial growth in order to reduce micro-pollutants present in urban runoff.
