Ir. Job van der Werf
Job van der Werf started his PhD in July 2018. His research focusses on Rational Real Time Control (RTC) of Urban Drainage Systems. With this research he aims to ensure a more widespread and robust implementation of RTC, investigating how both advanced and heuristic control algorithms perform in real world applications. His research builds on previous control measures and includes the first retrospective look at how well control strategies performed in real world situations. This research is part of the wider Kennisprogramma Urban Drainage.
Job has an international outlook, evident from his current positions as junior member of the Joint Committee Urban Drainage (JCUD) and secretary of the international working group on Real Time Control. This outlook and interest in extra-curricular activities were already present during his studies, which he completed at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland where we was awarded both the ‘Centenary Prize for Outstanding Performance’ for his degree and ‘Colours’ for his service to Sports.
If you are interested in a collaboration (academic or , doing your thesis or other project with Job, or are generally interested in RTC and want more information, feel free to contact through e-mail.
