There are some important developments in the MSc programme Sustainable Energy Technology (SET). The administration of SET will be transferred from the Faculty of Applied Sciences to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science as of 1 September 2016. Next to this, part of the first course of the master, will also be given as a new MOOC.

The first course in the Master Sustainable Energy Technologies is called Renewable Energy. As from next study year professor Arno Smets will be lecturer for this course. Part of the course will also be given as a Massive Open Online Course, which starts September 6th 2016. The MOOC’s name is Sustainable Energy: Design a Renewable Future. The online course is a cooperation between lecturers of all the faculties contributing to the Master SET.  Students will learn how to assess the potential for energy reduction and the potential of renewable energy sources like wind, solar and biomass. If you’re interested to follow this course, please enrol via EdX.
