International Summer School of Phased Array Radars

From 3 – 8 July the International Summer School of Phased Array Radars took place. This school was organized by the MS3 group with lecturers from TU Delft, University of Twente and Eindhoven University of Technology. The school is within the framework of the European School of Antennas and it is sponsored by the European Microwave Association. In total 26 PhD candidates and researchers from all over the world, i.e. Germany, Brazil, France, Korea, joined.

The school started on Sunday, 3rd July with a cycling tour to Hague followed by a welcome dinner with Jan Geralt bij de Vaate from Astron as an invited speaker. The discussion of phased array radar usage in space technology was continued at the closing event with a second invited speaker - Cyril Mangenot from the European Space Agency (ESA). During the week, the participants visited the Cabauw experimental site for atmospheric research followed by a BBQ in Delftse Hout. At the closing event the participants presented the projects they worked on during the Summer School and were awarded with Certificates.
