The Open Education Awards for Excellence provide annual recognition to outstanding contributions in the Open Education Consortium community. The Pre-University Calculus MOOC already welcomed over 36.000 learners from around the globe on the edX platform. The material is also published as open course ware and the videos are available on www.math-explained.tudelft.nl.

Review from one of the learners, who completed the course:
Excellent preparation for University level Calculus, or a great Reviewer for Lifelong Learners. Looking forward to additional courses from Delft. The material was presented very well, by caring teachers, and the large number of exercises cement the concepts well. The "slice of life" videos of Delft was a nice touch and would benefit other Institutions offering MOOCs.

Teachers Bart van den Dries, Fokko van de Bult, Wolter Groenevelt and Roelof Koekoek are happy with the recognition. Last year 19% of the new TU Delft bachelor students enrolled in the MOOC. Some of the videos were also used as pre-lecture material for the Calculus courses on campus.
The new summer version of the MOOC starts on the 28th of June on edX and is aimed at students who will start a science, engineering or design bachelor programme this fall. The course treats the topics: functions, equations, differentiation and integration and gives tips on study life. The course is for free.
