News - 30 November 2016

Lucas van Vliet is Professor Imaging Analysis and has been head of the Imaging Physics department since 2009. Since 1 May 2016 he has been acting dean of AS. In addition to his primary role at TU Delft, he is Professor of Quantitative Imaging at the Faculty of Science at Leiden University. Furthermore, he serves as chairman of the Delft Health Initiative and of the Medical Delta Programme Board.

The Executive Board is very pleased with this latest appointment: “With a new dean from within the organisation we have found the right person with the experience and drive to support the Faculty in its ambition of further strengthening its already world-leading education and research activities”, says Rector Magnificus Karel Luyben. Lucas van Vliet succeeds Tim van der Hagen, who has become President of the Executive Board of TU Delft.
