About 35 researchers from different disciplines within Cyber Security @ TU Delft came together to discuss future collaboration and learn about the do’s and don’ts of entrepreneurship in the field.

Pieter van Gelder, director of Delft Safety and Security institute, spoke about the benefits and challenges of collaboration. He introduced an incentive of 4000,- euro for the most innovative and multidisciplinary TU Delft Cyber Security project.

Ronald Prins, CEO of Fox IT and TU Delft Alumnus of the year 2016,  shared insights and tips on how to turn a great idea into a serious business. The key takeaways of his pitch were (1) Develop your own product (IP), (2) Engage a launching customer as soon as possible, and (3) A basic solution is often sufficient.

Through speed dates that followed, participants got to know their peers in 3-minute encounters. Networking drinks made sure that the conversations were continued. Many new contacts were made and we hope that soon new, fruitful collaborations will emerge.
