Diam is going to do research for the Brandwonden Stichting
Fred Vermolen received a project for a PhD student from the Nederlandse Brandwonden Stichting. The project's title is: 'Mapping the contraction- and hypertrophic processes of scars due to burns through computer simulations’.
It is a sequel of the successful project of Daniel Koppenol and Fred Vermolen. They developed various mathematical models which can simulate the healing of wounds and burns. This may help to improve better healing. It is quite exceptional that a project of a mathematician is approved by the Brandwonden Stichting. Most approved applications are from doctors.
