“The symposium is not only for students, staff and people of industry are also more than welcome”

Msc. Student Beer van der Drift of study association Christiaan Huygens co-organizes the symposium The Key to your Privacy on Cyber Security - May 1st at theatre De Veste.

Beer: “Once every two-and-a-half years we, as a study association, organize a symposium. We have chosen Cyber Security as a theme this time around, simply because it is a booming topic. In the outside world and within EEMCS. I am a student in the Cyber Security track myself and with the appointment of people like Zeki Erkin and Christian Doerr a new department has emerged within the faculty. We have invited several key note speakers like our ‘own’ Phil Zimmerman and experts at companies like ING, UL and Thales. Education is also part of the programme: a mathematician will enlighten us on prime numbers and a computer scientist on hacking. The final debat is centred around Quantum technologies. The symposium is not only for students, staff and people of industry are also more than welcome.”
