Young bright computer science talents at annual Bever Contest
On Saturday 11 March our faculty hosted the finals of the Bever Contest. This is an annual computer science contest for pupils from 'groep 7 & 8' in primary school and 'klas 1 - 6' in secondary school. The contest has been developed to let pupils get acquainted with computer science.
The 250 contestants tackled numerous questions on computer science, algorithms, structures, information processing, logic thinking, puzzles and applications. These were daunting tasks that could be resolved without theory, but with a good doses of logic thinking.
Questions went from easy to difficult in order and the test took 40 minutes. 200 points was the maximum score, and was also the score of all 1st prize winners per category.
