International Summer school Making the Metropolis
From 22 to 30 August, the international Summerschool Making the Metropolis took place.
Around sixty - mostly international students - have focused on the analysis and design of the future urban development area of "Havenstad" in Amsterdam. Three themes, namely The Connected City, The Vital City (Features & Program, Public Space & Interactive Environment) and The Circular City (Sustainability & Recycling, Ecosystems and Services).
The summer school was a joint initiative of the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS), the International Forum on Urbanism (IFoU) and TU Delft, the Faculty of Architecture and DIMI. The final results will be processed in a publication that will appear in November / December.
