Team Love wins Renault Design Award 2017

News - 06 December 2017

With their design, IDE students Evita Goettsch and Ilse van Zeumeren of Team Love have won the Renault Design Award 2017. This was announced by IDE alumnus Laurens van den Acker (Senior Vice President Corporate Design at Renault) on Monday 4 December. The duo had meeting each other and finding love as their starting point. To get to know each other better, you can link two cars into one.

After a few months of hard work, coached by Elmer van Grondelle, six designer duos were allowed to pitch their design of the car of the future (2030) to Laurens. Their designs were each inspired by one of the life stages of the Renault Design philosophy; Love, Explore, Family, Work, Play and Wisdom. The designs have been assessed on three points: originality, design overall and presentation of the concept. Although all duos had strong proposals, the originality of the idea of Team Love was ultimately decisive.

Next to a wonderful sculpture of the Renault TREZOR (which can be seen in the Automotive showcase in front of drawing studio 4), Evita and Ilse have won an internship in the Renault Design Centre in Paris, where they can do an assignment on their own.
