Grande Médaille French Materials Society for Van der Zwaag

Sybrand van der Zwaag will receive the prestigious golden Grande Médaille awarded by the French Materials Society SF2M (French Society of Metallurgy and Materials) for his entire body of research work. In the 70-year history of the prize, Van der Zwaag will be the first Dutch scientist who the medal will be bestowed upon. This international prize – the highest conferred by this scientific association - is granted annually. Previous winners are famous metallurgists such as Bain, Mott, Haasen, Pineau, Rappaz and Purdy.

 

The prize will be presented to Van der Zwaag on 21 November during the annual conference in Strasbourg.
