Jeroen Kalkman (TU Delft) and Arno van Leenders (Erasmus MC) received a grant of €10K from the Delft Health Initiative for their project on “Pathology in a new light with label-free deep tissue microscopy”. The TU Delft Health Initiative objective is to promote research in the field of Healthcare at Delft University of Technology and they granted 13 out of total 26 applications.

The researchers are going to develop a label-free 3D imaging method that can image tissue sections with high-resolution up to 4 millimeter thick. The technique is specifically applied to image prostate tissue sections label free in 3D without the need for physical sectioning. The project is a collaboration with the clinical pathology department of the Erasmus MC.
