Dr. Wijand Veeneman about selfdriving trains at BNR Spitsuur
Rail infrastructure manager ProRail will start, this year 2018, various trials with selfdriving trains. There will be trials for both cargo and passenger trains. During these tests the system will partly, or even fully, take over the tasks of the human train driver. 'These tasks are now being developed with new train protection systems, these systems make it possible to assist the train driver in new and better ways', according to Wijand Veeneman, teacher at Delft University of Technology and specialised in this area.
