Baljinnyam Sereeter wins drone at PowerWeb’s PhD poster contest 2018

News - 16 November 2018 - Communication

On 13 November the PowerWeb PhD poster contest 2018 took place at X Delft.
The judges subscribed all 20 posters as high level and great passion at every 2 minute pitch. The clarity to explain your research in such a short time is a challenge, but they all did very well. First prize winner is Baljinnyam Sereeter, second prize is for Nils van der Blij and last but especially according to the audience, not least: at third place Kaikai Pan.

While the judges Peter Palensky, Zofia Lukszo and Yashar Ghiassi (Erasmus) deliberated in the break, all PhD’s and visitors listened to lectures by:
• Vinay Sewdien; Policy advisor System Operations at TenneT - 'Life as PhD candidate in a big company'
• Jacky Bourgeois; Assistant Professor TU Delft; fac IDE – ‘Life after your PhD in a Scientific World'
• Laurens Mackay, Founder at DC Opportunities R&D - 'Life after your PhD in the industry'

This was followed by very useful questions and answers moderated by Arjen van der Meer.
They all exchanged information during drinks with champagne. Chair Peter Palensky opened the informal kick-off of the PowerWeb Institute that is approved by the CvB. Official start will be 1 January 2019.

A e-booklet of all contestants will be published within a few weeks, for now, there are the photos.
