Towards a substantiated outlook on the Dutch housing challenge
"How is it possible to have no answer to the housing shortage with the rich housing tradition in the Netherlands?" wonders Marja Elsinga, professor Housing Institutions & Governance. To formulate answers to this question, the initiative 'Creating one million homes' has been started at the faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment of TU Delft. The initiative responds to the call from the Dutch government to add one million homes to the Dutch housing stock before 2030. "We want to contribute to an solution for this societal challenge with the entire faculty." She collaborates with Mo Sedighi, who, together with two other researchers, focusses on the integration of the initiative in education: "My biggest priority is to educate students to understand the housing challenge of the future."
