In the new Times Higher Education ranking for Most International Universities in the World, TU Delft has maintained its 18th place, which it also held last year. The ranking is based on the following international indicators: proportion of international students, proportion of international staff, international co-authorship and international reputation.

Its 18th position makes TU Delft the highest ranked university in the Netherlands and the twelfth in Europe. The list of 177 universities contains six Dutch institutions and is headed by the University of Hong Kong. Ranked by country, the Netherlands occupies seventh place, showing that the Netherlands has an extremely internationally oriented academic environment.

High positions in leading rankings are important for universities to attract top international talent. Each of these rankings is compiled using a different methodology, each with its own advantages and limitations.
