A consortium led by CRUX Engineering, including TU Delft, TU Eindhoven, Gooimeer and Duurzaam Opgewekt Energiesystemen, have won the NENnovation award for the Energy Quay Wall. The Energy Quay Wall is an innovative method for extracting sustainable energy from quay wall structures, and is particularly important at this moment as many 100s km of quay walls need to be replaced or renovated in the Netherlands and due to the needed heat transition. An ongoing field test in Zweth (just outside Delft) is currently providing an important dataset which can be used to optimize the energy yield / energy storage capacity and the geotechnical stability.

Phil Vardon, Ivaylo Pantev and Jorrit de Vries are involved from TU Delft.
